Chromite is a dense igneous rock with a high chromium content, known as “black bath stone”. Due to its natural processing, it has a non-toxic form, which is confirmed by scientific research. The stone does not interact with water even at high temperatures, completely eliminating the possibility of releasing harmful substances.
Chromite is characterized by high density, fire resistance and a low coefficient of thermal expansion, so it does not crack when heated and cooled repeatedly. The melting point of chromite is 2180 °C, which far exceeds the possible temperatures in a steam room.
The mineral is dark brown or black in color with a characteristic metallic luster. Chromite is believed to have healing effects:
